STATUS OF MY 5 HEALTH PILLARS:

◈1-NUTRITION:

  • Completed 30 days of what seemed like OMAD but truth be told, some days like post on-call, I would still take a mug of hot milk to not collapse
  • Currently back to eating “normally” but preferring to eat by after 12pm (brunch perhaps) and taking max 2 meals a day, while ensuring the last one isn’t too close to bedtime. I’ve gotten used to not eating from 6AM-12PM.
  • Obsessed with 72% dark chocolate lately

◈2-MOVEMENT:

  • Finally confirmed from teeth and knee check-up that I can get back into gyming, though high consideration for preventing any next knee pain
  • Currently in a one-week academic break where I’m not in around the right geographic area for consistent gyming, so will delay another week before I start (bummer…😔)
  • Going to try the last gym + trainer experience, at the highest price relatively yet best conditions one….we shall see…

3-REST/SLEEP:

  • Committed to sleeping at 9 PM and getting up 5 AM for the next part of my 90 days of Stillness challenge (the next 30 days, and had started since 2nd April I think).
  • Has definitely been disrupted when I have on-calls though and have had some hiccups: sleeping 10 or 11 PM or even close to 12AM sometimes
  • Dedicated to keep having majority of the nights with strict sleep schedule (definitely not easy…and still takes a bit to fall asleep even if I head over and lay there at 9 PM)

4-PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Self

  • Facing some inner demons after dregging so much up from the first 30 days of the 90 Days of Stillness Challenge…
  • Rewatched/listened where this Challenge came from and the coach’s own journey with it and felt more determined to follow through for myself too
  • Recently listened to a doctor’s memoir and at the end of it, it deeply got me thinking about the very health risk of being a doctor itself and how much I’d want to be prioritizing my own wellbeing first and foremost.

business

  • I managed to get one new paying client but custom project (not the ideal) and so far have had 2 key sales calls for this month
  • invested in an online objections framework course to better my sales skills a bit
  • currently not very satisfied with the dry spell but very hopeful

Academics

  • currently half-way with OB/GYN rotation and seeing a lot of what I don’t know, don’t enjoy (the huge gaps in resources or healthcare especially for women) and still some challenges prepping for evaluations (I know I’ll never have control of what comes up but I try to study what’s key)
  • After some talk with a senior, reconsidering specialty direction or even whether it’s worth pursuing and continuing given so many huge life-altering factors.

5-INTERPERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:

Online

  • Connecting more with others in my objection frameworks online course and attended some other personal branding webinars
  • Also followed up on some new connections I made on Linkedin previously and checking in by whatsapp or on Linkedin itself
  • Ventured to reddit for a bit and reached out literally once but we will see (it’s all too apparent to me that my geographic contacts are just not at the same values or goal levels and I won’t let that stop me from seeking the right network for my net worth)

In-person

  • Realizing once again that some people are simply not true allies and grieving a bit on that
  • Accepting also that most of my med colleagues are not in the same avenue of life philosophy, values and direction as I am and that’s completely fine
  • Learning to ask more help more (about 3 times at this point and I’m still terrified and will try to keep practicing when I can)

This NOW page was inspired by Derek Sivers’ awesome project: nownownow.com

The NOW page responds to the question, “What are you currently doing?” and details what someone is focused on at this moment in their life.
